STADIO SOIT Hackathon 2024 Participation

Issued by Otinga.io

This badge recognises everyone who took part in the STADIO School of IT Hackathon 2024: AI for Sustainability in South Africa, held in person across STADIO's Bellville and Centurion campuses on 23 and 24 August 2024. Over 48 hours, teams of three to five students went from a blank page to a working prototype, framing a real sustainability challenge, building with AI, and pitching live to a judging panel. Most were first- to third-year IT students taking on innovation for the first time. Getting to that pitch took more than code: it took design thinking, teamwork under pressure, and the nerve to stand up and defend an idea. Recipients contributed to that effort and grew their technical, collaborative, and communication skills along the way.
